Dragon and Cherohala Loop about 140 miles (3 to 4 hours): 28 to Deals Gap (22 miles) 129 through the Dragon (21 miles) left on 72 (9 miles) left on 411 (3 miles) left on 360 (22 miles) left on 165, Cherohala Skyway (55 miles) through Robinsville to 143 east (9 miles) right on 28 to return to the KSL (2 miles)

Franklin, Highlands, Cashiers Loop about 125 miles (3 1/2 hours) 28 to 19 (10 miles) 19 east to Lauda (3 miles) 28 south to Franklin (20 miles) follow signs for 28 south and 64 east to Highlands (19 miles) 64 to junction 107 (10 miles) left on 107 to Sylva (27 miles) 74 back to 28 north (25 miles)

If you are riding between the Cherohala Skyway and Deals Gap the Kilmer cut-off
can save you a trip through Robbinsville and about 11 miles.
